Vidisha Gusain's Work | ContraWork by Vidisha GusainVidisha Gusain
UI/UX & Brand Designer
My own portfolio site, designed, coded and deployed by me from scratch.
The goal: A portfolio that works as proof of skill on its own. Instead of just listing projects, the site itself had to show how I think about layout, typography, motion and user flow.
What I did:
Concept & positioning: Built the site around one idea, “Tools change. Taste doesn’t.”, presenting branding, social media, UI/UX and web as one practice held to one standard.
UI design: A bold editorial hero, clean typographic hierarchy, and a scroll-driven layout that moves visitors from introduction to work to contact.
Interaction & motion: Animated skill marquees, hover states on project cards, and a clear five-step process section (Discover, Define, Ideate, Design, Test) that walks clients through how I work.
Content structure: Featured case studies linked to Behance, a dedicated section for live websites I’ve shipped, and direct contact links for low-friction enquiries.
Development & deployment: Hand-coded, fully responsive, and deployed on Netlify.
Result: A fast, live portfolio that showcases my work while proving I can take a website from concept to launch on my own. Aattires by Vaishaali Kumar is an Indian ethnic, Indo-western and bridal fashion label founded in 2002, showcased at New York Fashion Week across five seasons.
The challenge: The brand had real prestige (NYFW runways, exclusive fabrics, two decades of craft), but its Instagram didn’t reflect that. The feed lacked a consistent identity, and the brand’s story wasn’t coming through to the right audience.
What I do (ongoing retainer):
Brand identity: Defined a refined visual system with an oxblood and warm sand palette, editorial typography and a luxury-meets-heritage tone, then documented it in brand guidelines.
Social media strategy: Audited the Instagram account and audience insights, rewrote the bio around the brand’s NYFW credibility, and planned content around launches, exhibitions and fashion weeks.
Content creation: Shoot, edit and design all content, including product posts, runway coverage, carousels, reels and educational posts.
Account management: Handle captions, posting, DM workflows and Meta ad boosts.
Result: A cohesive, premium Instagram presence that finally matches the brand’s runway pedigree, with every post instantly recognisable as Aattires. Udbhid Business Solutions is a B2B corporate services and compliance consultancy in Gurugram, India, serving domestic and international clients.
The problem: The existing website had strong assets (international client testimonials, credible business stats, and a meaningful Sanskrit brand name), but they were buried under a dated, cluttered design that didn’t reflect the firm’s expertise.
What I did: I audited the live site and wrote a redesign brief, then rebuilt the visual experience from the ground up. The new design uses a bold red, white and dark grey palette, a clean glass-style navigation, and a hero section that leads with the firm’s core services. I restructured the services into clear, scannable categories (Licenses & Certification, Compliance & Taxation, Legal Solutions, Company Setup and HR) so visitors can find what they need in seconds. The site is multilingual (English, Chinese and French) to support international clients, and I designed, coded and deployed it myself on Netlify.
Result: A modern, credible web presence that puts the firm’s strengths front and centre and makes it easy for businesses to reach out.
