Aattires by Vaishaali Kumar is an Indian ethnic, Indo-western and bridal fashion label founded in 2002, showcased at New York Fashion Week across five seasons.
The challenge: The brand had real prestige (NYFW runways, exclusive fabrics, two decades of craft), but its Instagram didn’t reflect that. The feed lacked a consistent identity, and the brand’s story wasn’t coming through to the right audience.
What I do (ongoing retainer):
Brand identity: Defined a refined visual system with an oxblood and warm sand palette, editorial typography and a luxury-meets-heritage tone, then documented it in brand guidelines.
Social media strategy: Audited the Instagram account and audience insights, rewrote the bio around the brand’s NYFW credibility, and planned content around launches, exhibitions and fashion weeks.
Content creation: Shoot, edit and design all content, including product posts, runway coverage, carousels, reels and educational posts.
Account management: Handle captions, posting, DM workflows and Meta ad boosts.
Result: A cohesive, premium Instagram presence that finally matches the brand’s runway pedigree, with every post instantly recognisable as Aattires.
For brand identity, I like to show mockups to test of the identity system: the logo, pattern, and color palette all needed to work at a much larger scale without feeling overdesigned.
That’s where a flexible brand system really starts to prove itself.
A little preview of something I’m working on.
These embroidered patches are a small part of a much larger brand system, but details like this matter. The challenge is making sure the identity still feels distinct and intentional when it moves from screen to something physical you can hold in your hand.
That’s where a strong brand system starts begins to prove itself. More soon :)
A visual experiment built around an unused logo concept from a recent branding project.
The design was created manually, while exploring how AI-driven aesthetics are increasingly influencing contemporary visual language, even when AI itself isn’t part of the design process.
Logo design, art direction and visual exploration.
The dark, high-contrast cinematic aesthetic and thoughtful exploration of contemporary visual language are brilliant. Such a striking experimental brand visual!
