"Lust and learning. Katherine once said. That's really all there is, isn't it?"
My first commission for Vella — and it's now a product you can buy.
Vella, a women's sexual wellness company, commissioned me to create an original figure drawing of Katherine Driscoll, the fiercely independent character from John Williams' Stoner, for a limited-edition silky bandana. The brief came with strong artistic direction and that unforgettable quote, and I loved every minute of it.
I sketched the concept on paper first, then drew the final piece digitally in Adobe Fresco on my iPad Pro — all vector line work. There's something meditative about building a figure purely from lines: no fills, no shading, just the drawing itself breathing against that deep teal.
The bandana is live on Vella's site now.

"Shroomland" gouache + gold leaf on hot-press paper.
I like the theory that the first artists were shamans.
Before language hardened into syntax and rules, maybe humans gathered like this—
in small circles beneath impossible mushrooms,
moving together for no reason other than beauty, harmony, and joy.
A midsummer ritual from an imaginary past.
Or maybe just a reminder that, in spite of our efforts to the contrary, we’re still part of nature’s choreography.
Painted in gouache with touches of gold leaf for the night sky.

Using Adobe Fresco and Adobe After Effects, I brought my drawings to life, creating a captivating announcement for the opening of Edith's Mercería - a special showroom for handmade children's clothing crafted with Ecuadorian flair.
I'm curious for this community's feedback on my style and storytelling through this whimsical animation! For more artistic creations and behind-the-scenes insights, check out my profile here on Contra. 🤗

My first post here on Contra.
I’m intrigued by this platform's spirit, seemingly attracting those who genuinely care about making things: designers, illustrators, developers, independent creators. A refreshing alternative to more sterile professional networks. It reminds me a little of the old Mac vs. PC ads with Justin Long. Personality vs. uniformity.
I drew this animation (about a year ago) frame by frame on my iPad Pro using Adobe Fresco, inspired by the playful intro of Clarissa Explains It All. A simple line figure interacts with the letters of my name until everything resolves into a signature.
For the music I searched Epidemic Sound for something close to “Whistle Stop” by Roger Miller from The Jungle Book, a vinyl I played endlessly as a child.
