The Carlston Mysteries – Fictional Mystery Book Cover Series
This project involved the creation of a fictional book cover series for The Carlston Mysteries, a mystery and suspense concept centered around atmosphere, intrigue, and visual storytelling.
The goal was to develop cover artwork that immediately captures the reader's attention while reflecting the tone and themes of the stories. Through composition, color, typography, and illustration, each cover was designed to create a sense of curiosity and anticipation while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across the series.
As the illustrator and designer, I was responsible for the complete creative process, including concept development, composition, illustration, and final cover design. Particular focus was placed on balancing narrative elements with strong visual impact, ensuring that each cover felt both engaging and professionally marketable.
This project highlights my passion for storytelling through visual art and my ability to translate themes, emotions, and atmosphere into compelling cover designs.

This A2-sized fineline drawing depicts a symbolic composition of a heart being gently compressed by a hand. The artwork explores themes of emotional dependency and unhealthy relational dynamics.
The hand represents external control and emotional influence — the feeling of not being fully free, as if someone else has power over one’s emotional state or decisions. The heart becomes a symbol of vulnerability within a relationship where attachment and control are deeply intertwined.
The composition relies on clean, controlled fineline work to maintain clarity at a large scale while allowing the emotional weight of the subject to come through through form and spacing rather than heavy detail or shading.
This piece reflects my interest in using illustration as a medium for psychological and emotional storytelling, translating complex inner experiences into minimal but impactful visual language.
