Cozy Chess Club is an immersive experience where visitors can step into a virtual chess classroom and sign up for chess lessons. My aim was to bring the atmosphere of my real chess club in Bucharest into a virtual space, reimagining the classroom while keeping the brand's colours (periwinkle #a6b6e0, sage #badad5, and deep forest green #233d36) and its minimalist style.
It is a cosy, quiet, and inspiring place to learn chess and set your thoughts aside, a world apart where time seems to stand still and logic and creativity take centre stage.
I was drawn to the idea of building a virtual space that feels like a real, living place, so when I came across the Omma challenge I was genuinely excited to bring this world to life. The whole scene is built in Omma. The chess boards, tables, chairs, and host were made in Omma Studio and then arranged in the Omma Canvas scene by directing Omma's AI through conversational prompts to position each element as I'd planned. I also created an ambient sound piece in Omma Studio, tuned to the club's quiet, unhurried feel, so the space is not only seen but heard. I began with a sketch of how I wanted the room to come across, then worked from a prioritised checklist and mapped the visitor's journey so that every step of the tour stays intuitive and easy to follow. I brought the plan to life step by step, refining the file's structure and organisation by hand to keep the design clean and easy to navigate.
Visitors move freely through the room, drifting between the boards, where a simple prompt opens the sign-up flow and turns the walkthrough into a real moment of engagement.
I imagine it as a warm first touchpoint for newcomers, a way to feel the club's spirit before ever walking through its doors, and it works on any device. More than a landing page, it invites people into the world of chess and lets the space itself do the inviting.
