Super stoked to have helped with the recent launch of Flux Marine’s new website. Flux was making a strategic shift in their business and needed to overhaul their website to fit with their new strategy. One of their goals was to create a premium interactive web experience that appealed to their clients without being gimmicky. This meant creating intentional scroll animations, subtle page loads, and motion to help differentiate the website all while making sure the client could still manage the website after handoff. I gotta say I’m super happy with how the website turned out and really love the creative direction they ended up going with the photos.

Recently helped Wraith Media update their website. We had some fun incorporating these interactions into their Film page. The hero at the top is inspired by the A24 website that has a similar slider. Looking forward to helping build out the remainder of the site.

Building on my post from last week, here’s the fully prototyped landing page created in Figma. Going to design the remaining pages in Figma and build in Webflow next as a portfolio project.

Recently I’ve started prototyping my designs in Figma more than I have in the past. I tended to avoid prototyping in the past due to it being time consuming and honestly most of the projects I was working on were simple enough to not require this amount of detail. But as the projects I work on have become more complex I’ve found that this extra attention to detail really helps align with stakeholders and sell them on a design before starting development. With a prototyped design clients are able to interact and see how the website will function, not just how it will look. This helps reduce uncertainty in the final deliverable and ultimately helps speed up Webflow development. In the past describing all the hover interactions and click interactions for something even as simple as the slider below would require both time for me to explain and some imagination on the client’s part. While imagination is great, it’s not the best way to align on fine details. Anyways, long story short, new policy is show don’t tell.
