Users start an important task but don't finish it?

Sound familiar?

New users sign up but never reach the point where your product clicks.
People drop off during onboarding, an application, checkout or setup.
Support keeps answering the same "how do I…?" questions.
Analytics show where users leave, but not why.
Your team has a long list of UX ideas and no agreement on what to fix first.
I review one critical flow in your product, screen by screen, alongside the evidence you already have. You get a ranked list of what's getting in users' way and what to do about it.

What you'll know at the end

What's stopping users, ranked by impact.
Which problems design can fix, and which are technical or operational issues a redesign won't solve.
How serious each issue is, how confident we can be, and roughly how much effort each fix takes.
Which fixes are safe to ship now, and which need testing first.
What "better" could look like for the biggest problems.

What you get

Annotated UX review: up to 10 key screens of one flow, covering structure, interactions, content clarity and visible accessibility issues.
Prioritised fix list: every issue rated for severity, confidence and rough effort, ready to plan with engineering.
Design directions: 2–3 example concepts for the most important issues.
Walkthrough and follow-up: a 60-minute session with your team and one round of follow-up questions.

How it works

Day 1: Scope. We agree the flow, the user role and what success looks like. You share access and any analytics, research or support feedback.
Days 2–8: Review. I go through the flow alongside your evidence, keeping what I can see separate from assumptions that need testing.
Day 10: Walkthrough. I present the findings, we agree what to prioritise, and you get one round of follow-up questions.

Why work with me

10+ years designing and reviewing complex products for HSBC, UBS, Google, Three UK and Legal & General.
I started as a front-end engineer, so my effort estimates are realistic and your engineers can plan from them.
You work directly with me, from scoping to walkthrough. No account managers, no handoffs.
Selected work (client work is under NDA, so highlights only)
UK mobile network: audited a 1,200+-page website, grouped the pages into reusable families, and turned them into responsive templates that went into production.
Global investment bank: before any redesign, separated interface problems from performance and operational ones, so the design work focused on what design could actually fix.
Premium car brand: benchmarked the online buying journey, conducted a WCAG 2.2 accessibility review, and turned the findings into three prioritised directions.
"A real strength of Marian is his understanding of what the customer wants and balancing that with the business stakeholders' vision of the feature." — Digital Product Owner
"He has a wealth of experience and was able to relate to previous projects by sharing ideas and best practices used across the industry." — Product Owner

Good fit if

You have a live app or platform and one flow that matters to growth.
You can give me a test environment or a demo account.

Not a fit if

You need a full WCAG accessibility or code audit. I flag visible accessibility issues, but this isn't a compliance audit.
You want new research with recruited users. It can be added; ask before booking.
You already know what's wrong and need it designed. See Complex Workflow Design.
To get started Access to a test environment or demo account, the task and user role to focus on, any known constraints, and any analytics, research or support feedback you have.
