Excited to participate in the Make It Real Challenge by Squarespace!
It’s been an amazing experience bringing a creative idea to life and discovering how powerful the new Finish Layer tools is. Squarespace’s built-in features made it possible to create a premium & dynamic website with a smooth user experience—all without code.
THE PROJECT :
For this challenge, I completely redesigned a dynamic website for SECOND HOME, a premium property rental business offering beautiful stays across Canada.
The goal was simple: Create a website that feels as welcoming as home, as inspiring as travel and as premium as the properties themselves—while guiding visitors toward becoming paying guests.
From the very first scroll, the website is designed to capture attention, communicate the brand's personality, showcase the properties, and create a seamless path from discovery to booking.
I focused on creating a balance between visual storytelling, interactive motion, practical UX and conversion-focused design.

FINISH LAYER FEATURES I USED:
🔹 Block Animations
Created a dynamic browsing experience with animations triggered by scroll, click, hover and user interactions.
🔹 Block Transforms
Used transforms to create a cinematic day-to-night transition effect in the hero section, adding depth and visual storytelling to the first impression.
🔹 Stacks
Grouped and aligned multiple elements to create layered compositions, overlapping cards, and a smooth card-scroll experience while maintaining control across different screen sizes.
🔹 Layers
Organized visual elements and controlled their positioning to achieve the desired hierarchy and polished composition.
🔹 Custom Font Uploads
Integrated custom typography to create a distinctive visual identity and give the brand a more personalized, premium feel.
🔹 Other Squarespace Features:
• Form submissions for guest data collection
• Gallery views to showcase properties
• Accordions for FAQs
• Quote blocks to highlight key messaging
With Squarespace, I was able to turn that idea into an interactive digital experience.
This project pushed me to explore how motion, layout, typography, storytelling, and UX can work together to create a website that doesn't just look beautiful—but is designed to move visitors toward action.
