I redesigned the MHQ Lagos website to reflect the vibrant, offbeat culture of its creative coworking community. The goal was to move beyond generic workspace templates and create a narrative-driven experience that feels like a walk through MHQ itself.
Key highlights and decisions behind the redesign:
Story-first design approach: I used lifestyle imagery, playful copywriting, and neighborhood nods to tell the story of MHQ as not just as a place to work, but a place to belong
Refreshed content hierarchy to guide different user types (freelancers, teams, event planners) toward relevant spaces and actions
A CMS-powered “What’s On” page for events, enabling the MHQ team to easily update listings while keeping the vibe consistent
Integrated subtle motion and real video content to bring energy and context to the user journey
Maintained the existing layout structure while leveling up usability and visual clarity, especially across mobile

Redesigning the Booking Flow for Usability and Retention
The old booking flow felt disjointed. Users were redirected off-site too early, creating drop offs and breaking trust. I redesigned this touchpoint to feel more intuitive, branded, and conversion friendly.
Key improvements:
Integrated booking triggers directly into core pages like coworking, meeting rooms, and events, so users can take action without backtracking
Designed subtle, on-brand microinteractions that make booking feel smooth and familiar, not abrupt
Implemented a custom booking widget that keeps users within the MHQ site longer, allowing them to select their preferences, dates, and details in one place. The full booking flow, including payment, happens inside a responsive widget that adapts seamlessly to the user’s device.
This shift created a more natural, guided experience that reduced user drop offs and gave MHQ greater control over messaging at every step of the journey.
Previous booking setup redirected users to a third party platform for payments, breaking the site experience.
On-site booking widget that keeps users on the website from selection to payment. No more redirects.
This wasn’t just a redesign, it was a reintroduction. The new site invites visitors into the MHQ world with the same warmth and wit you'd feel walking through their front door.
