The client. Cemer is an urban equipment Turkish company focused on creating modular elements for playgrounds. They are a socially responsible enterprise under the motto "every child has the right to play", and they are also part of the World Design Organization (WDO). (contest-based project)

Objective. The goal of the project is to design equipment for an inclusive, smart, and interactive playground that lays the foundations for the brand's product innovation. The design should be as inclusive as possible and create a space where people of all ages may gather while keeping the brand's modular escence.

Solution. Integration of a modular play area surrounded by social areas with interactive and energy-efficient elements. The playground is powered by energy-harvesting tiles that allow for changes in the translucent-opaque screens of the labyrinth, the sounds of the sensor-activated tunnel, and the LED night light diffused by the acrylic ceiling. The carbon electrostatic screens work as air filters that create a cozy space on the recycled PET benches and stands. By using pastel colors and soft shapes, the playground evokes a sense of ease and coziness in users. For this project in-depth analyses of technology and material trends, inclusive environments, and design language were developed.
