Description:
For my client "Dorothea Erxleben Zentrum" (https://www.umh.de/lehre/dorothea-erxleben-lernzentrum-halle-delh/lehre-im-delh) I developed an immersive AR experience/game designed for medical students to learn how to use a respirator.
Medical tutorials on such devices are often repetitive, and many students find them unengaging. The COVID-19 pandemic further complicated the situation, as respirators were in high demand, leading to bottlenecks that limited hands-on training opportunities for students. Despite these challenges, ensuring students were well-trained in using the frequently updated equipment remained critical.
My project addressed these challenges by introducing an interactive, efficient, and engaging learning tool.
To elevate the experience, I incorporated not just gamification elements but also fully interactive games, such as a multiple-choice quiz to test and reinforce students' competence with the tool. This transformed the traditionally dull lecture format into an innovative, hands-on, and practical training session. By employing a rapid prototyping approach—creating small, completed iterations of the product and refining them through frequent feedback sessions—I ensured every detail of the project was meticulously developed and aligned with user needs. This iterative and collaborative process resulted in a solution that was both highly user-focused and seamlessly functional.
