Sportyeah is a digital platform designed for athletes, organizers, and sports communities to create, manage, and share tournaments across different sports, with a strong focus on football. The platform aims to professionalize amateur competitions by offering tools that are usually only available in high-level or broadcast-driven sports environments.

Organizing amateur tournaments is often fragmented and inefficient. Existing solutions focus either on basic scheduling or on passive content consumption, but rarely cover the full lifecycle of a tournament.

Key challenges identified:

Complex tournament creation processes

Poor real-time match reporting

Limited experiences for different user roles (organizers, players, spectators)

Lack of tools to bring live context and engagement to amateur competitions

There was a clear opportunity to rethink how tournaments are built, managed, and experienced in real time.

The solution was informed by UX research across well-known sports and content platforms, analyzing how users consume, interact with, and follow sports data.

Content-driven experiences that prioritize clarity, speed, and live updates

The goal was not to replicate existing solutions, but to combine structured competition logic with modern, real-time sports consumption patterns.

I worked end-to-end on the tournament experience, focusing on:

Defining scalable tournament structures

Designing role-based experiences

Improving usability for complex configurations

Creating a unique live match management feature

The tournament system was designed around three core user roles, each with a tailored experience:

Administrators: create tournaments, configure formats, manage teams and matches

Participants: access schedules, standings, match details, and results

Spectators: follow tournaments, matches, and live updates in real time

This approach ensured a complete ecosystem rather than a single-use tool.

One of the most distinctive outcomes of this project was the creation of the Live Match Console, a feature not commonly found in amateur tournament platforms.

The console allows administrators or assistants to:

Input live match events (goals, cards, substitutions, incidents)

Manage match state in real time

Report accurate data without friction

At the same time, this information is instantly reflected for spectators, enabling:

Live match tracking

Real-time updates

A more immersive experience for followers

This feature transformed Sportyeah from a static tournament manager into a live sports experience, bringing amateur competitions closer to professional standards.
