The original dark wall treatment disadvantaged the arrival of lights. The contrasting little rose and black wall tiles visually reduced the small space itself. The wall dividing the bathroom into two areas also had a negative impact on overall space perception.

The project offers the "zoning" solution of perimetral wall treatment. Firstly, a massive mural divider is replaced by a glass bathtub partition. It immediately increases space visually and lets the natural light slide into the end of a room.
Now the first area is dedicated to a new drop-in bathtub. To optimize the storage and bathing procedures the bath wall was articulated by niches shelves, which are convenient for usage and cleaning. The new beige tiles with a slightly flickering texture reflect perfectly the incoming lights and benefit overall space luminance.
The second zone is dedicated to the washing area. To divide visually the two zones the decision was to use the Venetian plaster wall treatment, respecting the same beige color palette.
Lastly, in a way to conserve the original floor tiles, there was also introduced a horizontal zoning solution: the green countertop surface and a same-colored top wall strip recall the sage-green floor. The gradation in height increases the vertical perspective, and visually expands the overall height of the room.
