Project: Designing a shop for Karters' expansion and the launch of their second store.

Karters' Background: The luxury clothing shop has been running for 13 years with a loyal customer base. They decided to expand their online store in 2019.

The Challenge: Taking a traditional brick & mortar shop and creating an online store for them, the 2nd location, and their customers without detracting from their in-person experiences.

THE PROCESS

1. Discovery & Research 2. Design 3. Reflection & Development

1. Discovery & Research

The discovery process is my initial call with the clients to determine the full scope of their needs as well as basic information such as branding and user profiles. From this call, I create general user flowcharts and prepare a sitemap.
User info provided by the client: The shop's primary users are located in Manhattan, with the second location centered in Brooklyn. Their users are avid fashion connoisseurs, with many of their customer base being performers, designers, and runway regulars. They buy only the highest quality and need a dependable brand to provide it.

2. Design

The design process has two main components: wireframing and prototyping. Karters' needed a variety of page designs from service booking, to subscription payments, storefronts, and collection pages for their different clothing release dates.

3. Reflection & Development

After presenting the design to the clients, we tweaked some images and began the development phase. This site was built in Webflow over the course of 3 days.
