Arlingclose is a leading independent treasury advisory firm in the UK, with over 25 years of experience and more than 300 clients. They came in with a website that didn't reflect that reputation.
The information was disorganised and hard to navigate. Services and Sectors lived mixed together in the same section, with no clear distinction between the two. For a new visitor, or even an existing client, finding the specific service they needed took far too much effort.
For a firm whose core value is clarity and trust, that digital experience sent exactly the wrong message.
Key issues identified:
Services and Sectors mixed together with no differentiation in the navigation
No way to properly search or filter services
Outdated design that didn't convey the firm's authority
Confusing structure that made it hard to understand who each service was for
No clear visual hierarchy between content types
The process
1. Content audit and information architecture
The first step was understanding what existed, what was missing, and how it should be reorganised.
The core decision was separating Services from Sectors as two independent dimensions, each with its own navigation logic.
2. Visual redesign built on existing branding
Arlingclose already had a logo and brand colours with years of recognition behind them. The work wasn't to replace them, it was to systematise and enrich them
The result is a site that feels professional and trustworthy without feeling distant.
3. Content hierarchy designed around the user
We designed distinct flows for different types of visitors:
Someone looking for a specific service (Debt Advice, Investment Advice, etc.)
Someone arriving by sector (local authorities, universities, charities, housing associations)
Someone discovering the firm for the first time
Each entry point has its own clear path.
4. Development
Development was handled by Francisco and Corrado, founders of Sowe Tech, a custom software development studio. They brought the design to life with care: subtle animations, well-calibrated typography, and reusable components. The result is a fast, responsive site that's easy to maintain.
Redesigned the digital presence of a leading UK treasury advisory firm: clearer structure, stronger navigation, and a modern look built on their existing brand.
