MONSOON – THE SEASON TO EXPLORE
We all know that rains bring a lot of muck, muddy water, and humidity. In fact, they frequently
spill water on your plans. But this season has another side, a lovely side.
During Monsoon, the rain and cool breeze make the locations more appealing and exotic. There
is lush greenery, dense misty clouds, washed-up roads, and a sweet wet odor that lingers in the
air. Vacations and trips are the best ways to spend time during the monsoons. So, it can be the
best season to explore some of the places in the world with your friends or family or with the
love of your life as monsoon is also the season of being all lovey-dovey.
There are several places in India with spectacular views that will leave you breathless and in awe
of nature. Some of them are:
1. Heaven on Earth – Kashmir: The Kashmir valley is a beautiful landscape at any
time of year, but the beauty of Dal Lake in Srinagar is legendary. However, the
monsoon season is one of the best times to visit the Kashmir valley because
temperatures rarely rise above 30 degrees Celsius. And even though the monsoon
season in the Kashmir valley begins in July and ends in August, there is very little
rainfall. The climate and temperature are moderated by the mountains and lakes, and
the long summer days give visitors plenty of time to enjoy the region.
2. Goa: Goa, a popular tourist destination all year, is a wonderful place to visit during
the monsoon season. During the downpours, the land of beaches becomes stunning,
with never-ending views of the sea. It is an ideal location for trekking, shopping,
birdwatching, and other activities, and it will never cease to amaze you with its
beauty.
3. Ranikhet, Uttarakhand: Ranikhet, is one of the most beautiful places to visit during
the monsoon season in Uttarakhand. It is surrounded by scenic green Himalayan
mountains. During the rainy season, the main activities to engage in are temple
hopping and trekking.
4. Meghalaya: There are many places to visit in Meghalaya, but the best places to visit
during the monsoon season are Cherrapunjee. The area is immaculate, with almost
nothing but green in sight. The weather is unpredictable, as is to be expected during
the monsoon season. Clouds will play hide and seek with you. The waterfalls in
Meghalaya come alive with the rains during the monsoon season. The Seven Sisters
Falls, Nongriat Falls, Wei Sawdong Falls, and Dainthlen Falls are all worth seeing.
Nongriat Trek is ideal for those who enjoy hiking and exploring the outdoors.
Apart from Cherrapunjee, the monsoon is also beautiful at Shillong and Mawsynram.
5. Munnar, Kerala: Munnar in the monsoon is not only a visual treat but also a
therapeutic experience for the body and mind that you will remember for the rest of
your life. The winding roads are breathtaking, with opulent tea estates on one side and
lofty mountains on the other. The monsoon casts its magical spell, adorning Munnar
with a dreamlike mist — beautiful waterfalls cutting through the greenery add to the
allure.
Lockheart viewpoint and tea factory, Eravikulam National Park, Carmelagiri
Elephant Park, and Matupetty Dam are the main tourist attractions in Munnar.
If you want to travel internationally during the monsoon, then this is the list of some amazing
destinations to visit and explore.
1. Costa Rica: Costa Rica, which means "rich coast," is a popular destination for wildlife
enthusiasts and ecotourists, and it is home to a stunning array of exotic plants and
animals. In fact, some of the world's most endangered and rare species can be found here.
Costa Rica has it all, from beautiful beaches to dense jungles. In many ways, the
rainy season is an incredible season to visit Costa Rica.
2. Singapore: Singapore has two distinct rainy seasons. Despite the rain, Singapore never
misses out on the exciting events that take place during the monsoon season. The
entertaining event of the Great Singapore Sale, where people get unbelievable discounts,
brings out the shopper in you.
Travelers can also indulge their taste buds at the Singapore Food Festival, which is held
during the monsoon season. You can go to Marina Garden Bay and see the world's tallest
indoor waterfall, have a drink at Clarke Quay, and, best of all, pamper yourself at the
Spa.
3. Bangkok, Thailand: Thailand is another fantastic destination that does not have to be
avoided during the monsoon season. The rainy season greens up the fields and trees and
enhances the beauty of the scenery. When in Bangkok, keep in mind that it rains a lot, but
after the rain, the sun comes out and quickly dries everything.
