Built at Aircards for the Royal Canadian Mint, in collaboration with Eat It Up Media and Media Experts. A 360° WebXR virtual museum built around the launch of the Alexander Graham Bell commemorative circulation coin.
The museum has two rooms: the Sound Room and the Transportation Room, each dedicated to Bell's inventions. Inside, users explore 3D models with layered narratives, video integrations, and animated reveals, with 2D and 3D animations bringing the artefacts to life.
Navigation ran on two modes: joystick-based movement for desktop (keyboard and mouse) and hotspot-driven exploration for mobile. Camera animations handled transitions between points of interest, with CSS animations layered on top of the 3D scenes for UI and reveal moments, and video transitions bridging between states.
Performance was managed through a per-device LOD strategy, serving different asset quality levels for desktop and mobile. That mattered: over half of all 29,000 visits came from mobile devices, with a 35% interaction rate across the board.
