Built at Aircards for NICE, a global software company, the NICEverse was a multiplayer WebXR gaming platform built for employee engagement at scale. Over 7,500 employees could log in securely and compete across six AR mini-games — single and multiplayer, with practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and a leaderboard culminating in a family trip to Disneyland for top performers.
The six games ranged from timed puzzles and scavenger hunts to a platform game and an asteroid avoidance game. Technically, the platform used AR iFrames to embed multiple AR mini-games within a single webpage, which was an innovative approach that kept performance solid and the experience cohesive across the whole system.
I worked on two of the six games and the multiplayer notification system. The first was a 3D space game where players used their device's gyroscope to navigate a starship, dodge asteroids and collect power-ups in AR. The second was an underwater puzzle game where players connected pipes within a time limit to keep a stream flowing, set in an immersive 3D underwater environment. I also integrated dynamic sound across both games and built the multiplayer notification system that alerted players to game events and invitations.
