dreamflow completed a website design concept for the 'Tiny Escapes', a new venture for the team behind the 'Tiny Spaces' magazine which focusses on tiny house living and design. The idea behind Tiny Escapes is it allows users to experience Tiny Living without needing to own their own place.

We followed the same rules that we had applied to the Tiny Spaces website. Tiny houses require very intentional design, everything has to be designed well to make the most of the space. We decided to reflect these elements in our work by developing unusual layouts that draw the user into the page.

Imagery is a key focus for this project, and rich media was selected as part of the magazine's works. However where we split from the Tiny Spaces brief is functionality. We wanted to communicate things like price, location and amenities at a glance. This is why we developed the icon system which communicates things like pet friendly, accessibility, and if the property has an electric car charger.

As part of this project we created the brand for Tiny Spaces that used warm, eco tones inspired by the Australian bush. Our selected colours, Canopy Green, Paperbark White and Wattle Yellow draw from natural elements that are consistent with the tiny home imagery across the site.

When it came to typography, we chose to use super sized headers to play in contrast with the idea of 'tiny living'. GT Pressura was selected as the header font, as it has a boxy base with funky rounded corners that create a playful and memorable look.

Paired with Public Sans for the body, which is an easy to read square font.

We used Dazzed for the sub headings - this is a really fun font with squiggly 'g's that compress at the base to create this feeling that it is beeing squished into a box.
