Daily UI Challenge — Prompt #001: Sign Up

💭 Reframed Prompt

Design a sign-up experience that builds trust and reduces friction in high-dropoff contexts.

🎯 Chosen scenario

Mobile first sign-up flow for a global wildfire relief platform.
The platform helps volunteers, donors, and local residents support wildfire-affected areas from anywhere in the world.

🚩 Core Problems to Solve

Fragile trust at entry point
People hesitate to sign up when the purpose isn’t clear or are skeptical about where their information is going. Without clear signals of trust or intent, they drop off.
Data skepticism and consent fatigue
Users are cautious about giving up their email or location unless the purpose is obvious and justified.
Too much, too early
Long forms and immediate asks without context can overwhelm or slow users down. People want to understand what they’re stepping into before committing.

✏️ Design approach

Progressive, Trust-First Onboarding
Instead of a single long form, the sign-up is split into two short screens with minimal fields.
Flexible Ways to Start
Included options for guest access, social login, and passkey. No single required method to access the app.
Contextual Microcopy
Applied short, purpose-specific microcopy only where additional clarity was needed. Placed trust-related copy — like data use and consent details — directly next to primary actions
