AO Surgery Reference

The AO Surgery Reference App is a resource for the management of fractures, based on current clinical principles, practices and available evidence. It is used by healthcare professionals worldwide, and is particularly aimed at surgical residents in clinical practice. It allows the user to navigate through the clinical steps of diagnosis, the management decisions, description of treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare considerations.

As a medical illustrator, to date I have created countless illustrations to describe accurately the surgical procedures.

To ensure that the produced visuals are accurate and meet the needs of users all around the world, close collaboration with international surgeons is essential.

The selected authors and editors are widely recognised and known for their expertise.

The content development is done in close collaboration in form of workshops. Face-to-face meetings are in particular essential to understanding the complex concepts as it allows you to interact. It allows you to use models and quickly sketch the main steps with the help of an expert. As a medical illustrator, it is essential to fully understand each step of the surgery and the anatomy.
