I designed the ULTA Vendor Expo map to simplify a highly complex convention layout and create a clear, intuitive experience for attendees navigating more than 200 vendor booths. The challenge was translating dense spatial information into a system that felt visually engaging and easy to use in real time.
Vendor Map
Design Approach
I developed a color-coded regional structure that connected the legend directly to the floor plan, guiding attendees along clear starting paths and helping distribute foot traffic evenly across the hall. This visual logic reduced confusion, improved movement, and made the map instantly understandable.
Process & Tools
To manage complexity efficiently, I used an interactive planning tool that allowed rapid testing of booth arrangements, spacing scenarios, and traffic flow patterns. This accelerated decision-making, minimized layout errors, and aligned stakeholders before anything went to print.
Outcome
The final map balanced clarity, organization, and aesthetics—enhancing navigation and elevating the overall Vendor Expo experience through thoughtful information design.
