Learn more. Live better.

When creating content about mental health and wellness, the main focus is to help your audience learn more about the issues they or their loved ones are going through - no matter how simple or difficult they may be. The next step is showing them how to use those tools and grow as a person in order to live better every day.

Below are samples of mental health & wellness content created for myself and my clients:

How Self-Care Habits Can Improve Your Self-Made Business

LinkedIn

"It’s often difficult to find time for yourself. However, it’s incredibly important to make your health a priority for your personal benefit and for the success of your business.

In my own experience, the only times I could really focus on building my business or writing a blog post (like this one!) was when I gave myself time to decompress from different stressors in my life. Self-care looks different for everyone and is entirely dependent on what you need at the moment to help support your mind, body, and soul."

I wrote this article to go over what self-care means and lay out different ways to care for your physical, mental, spiritual, financial, and dream health as you grow a self-made business.

5 Strategies To Help Clear Your Creative Brain Fog

Medium

"Ever feel stuck, confused, or forgetful? Like you just can’t focus or concentrate on even the smallest tasks anymore? That’s brain fog. Although not an official medical term yet, it is occurring more often as we collectively suffer through this pandemic alongside our other daily stresses.

For me, it’s related to complicated grief and loss in my family. For you, it may be a similar reason — or it could be financial stress, relationship issues, or your own mental health struggles."

This article was a personal project at a time when I was struggling with how to reduce my feelings of agitation, fatigue, and brain fog. During the height of the pandemic, the majority of the world was going through a collective trauma that left us feeling untethered and languishing. Researching strategies to alleviate my own struggles inadvertently helped others find mental clarity in their own creative brain fog.

Black mothers are under-served by the healthcare system – can better access to NIPS help?

The Ribbon Box

"In the United States, racial disparities in healthcare access are a major crisis. This is especially true when it comes to maternal health and reproductive rights. Black women are up to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than their White counterparts. [...]

One way to start improving those statistics on pregnancy-related deaths and serious complications is through better prenatal care, including access to early testing. Juno Diagnostics has an entire suite of services, including at-home prenatal screenings and genetic counseling. You can get next-level care in a way that’s convenient for you. They are committed to improving prenatal care and diagnosis for everyone, regardless of race or socioeconomic status."

The Ribbon Box began with the idea that fertility health should be accessible to everyone. There are so many taboos and exclusivity when it comes to who can find and access quality reproductive healthcare—and that affects our mental health, too. By uncovering the gold standard of what it means to support one another as women, partners, and healthcare providers, The Ribbon Box is the leading lifestyle platform for fertility, well-being, and community in the UK and growing in the US.

12 Gifts To Help People Living With Anxiety

Wishlisted

"Anxiety can show differently for everyone. As the most common mental health issue in the United States, it affects over 40 million adults every year, and the pandemic exacerbated it even more. Social anxiety can cause difficulty speaking up, while someone struggling with PTSD may need help reducing everyday stress to prevent the onset of panic attacks. So, what better way to show the people in your life that you see their struggle than a gift that supports their mental health journey?"

In honor of Mental Health Awareness month, I was tasked to create an article focused on finding the best gifts to help anyone living with anxiety – whether they’re a morning person, a complete night owl, or someone in-between.

How To Cope Through Loss and Grief

KQH Mental Health Counseling

"The loss of a loved one can make you feel frozen in time. Grief settles into your mind, body, and soul as you look around to see that empty seat at the table or feel the pain of someone’s absence from maturing family photos. If you’ve ever lost a loved one, please know you are not alone, and - no matter the age, relationship, time, or place – the physical, emotional, and psychological weight you carry of the pieces they left behind are real. Grief is one of the most difficult parts of experiencing loss and it’s important to learn how to build yourself up within that space and heal into this new reality."

It has been an honor working with KQH in writing blog posts about topics that help women of color and anyone struggling with their mental health. KQH Mental Health Counseling provides psychotherapy for women of color, so they can openly share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences while being supported through empathy by women who can culturally relate to them.

Sleep Therapy - Who Is It Good For

ThinkSleep

"Do you struggle with falling asleep, staying asleep, or worrying about getting the healthy sleep that you deserve? do you have trouble adjusting to jetlag, managing your crazy work hours, or waking up for work on time since you are a night owl? you are not alone. getting healthy sleep is mostly ignored or put on the back burner, however, everyone needs healthy sleep for their overall health and well-being. too often, people assume that “therapy” or “treatment” is reserved for those with serious “conditions,” “diagnoses,” or “disorders,” but words like these can confuse and complicate a very simple concept -- we can all benefit from information and skills to improve our sleep."

Everyone deserves healthy sleep and can achieve it. ThinkSleep is a telehealth behavioral sleep therapy private practice focused on providing the right information and the best tools to help people get better sleep.

How To Find Gratitude Within Yourself

KQH Mental Health Counseling

"As a woman, it can often feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders and it can keep you from taking the time to experience your life to its fullest. That is why it is so important to practice gratitude wherever you can. Not taking the time to be mindful of that can often cloud how you view yourself and how you relate to others.

With the world in a constant state of disarray and psychological stress on the body, mind, and spirit at an all-time high since the beginning of the pandemic, taking care of your mental health is vital to kick-starting your overall health. One major practice that brings peace and wellness into every aspect of your life begins from within."

It has been an honor working with KQH in writing blog posts about topics that help women of color and anyone struggling with their mental health.
