OVERVIEW

I'm a creative director for my day job, and one of my clients (unfortunately can not name, though you may recognize the brand from these images) recently had a Mother's Day promotion which needed a series of promotional ads for Meta and Google. I briefed my team on most of the projects, but also got to design a few Mother's Day graphics myself to drive traffic to their website for the duration of the promo.

PROCESS

Whenever meeting with a client for Paid Media design, especially with Promo ads, there are a few questions I like to ask.
What is the landing page for this promotion?
What is your offer? Do you want to display it on the ad, or do you prefer to keep promotion information in your ad copy?
Are there any pre-selected images you'd like me to use for this project, and if not, do you have a folder of images I can select from?
These are the absolute basics, but if you don't go into a project with a clear plan ahead, you set yourself up for multiple rounds of revisions (which are a headache for both parties), and you can miss crucial details that your client may assume you'd include. If you don't ask, you won't know.
After writing out some brief copy to overlay on my client's 2024 Mother's Day images (they shot photos specifically for this promo, which is why question 3 is so important), I created my images. They aren't anything crazy, but alongside well-written ad copy (tooting my own horn) simple graphics can do very well. I'm happy to say out of all the 20+ promo images we ran, these were among the top performers.

RESULTS

For the sake of time and space on this project, I'll leave off the resized 9:16 Stories versions, but this provides a small glimpse into what I can create for your paid ads - promo or not. Reach out to me for any paid or organic social graphics requests!
