My Role:
As the sole iOS developer on the project, I was deeply involved in shaping the experience from the ground up. My responsibilities included:
Building the iOS app from scratch using Swift and MVVM architecture
Integrating WebRTC for seamless video calling and real-time interaction
Enabling content creation with video recording/editing powered by AVFoundation and FFmpeg
Implementing Firebase for login, chat, notifications, and user sync
Working side-by-side with the design team to ensure the UI felt natural and intuitive across all iPhone models
Managing App Store readiness, ensuring the app passed review quickly and ran reliably under high usage
Results
Successfully launched on iOS alongside Android, contributing to over 1L+ total downloads
75%+ users actively engaged in chat or video within 3 days of signup
Reduced video upload time by 35% using local FFmpeg processing
Boosted retention by implementing gamified challenges and streaks
