An example build by my studio for a fictional Italian restaurant in Manchester. It is not client work: the restaurant, menu, owners and review quote are sample content. It shows what a restaurant site can do beyond a PDF menu.
The brief I set myself
People visit a restaurant site to see the food, check the menu and prices, find out when it is open and book a table. Everything else is secondary, so the page puts those first and makes them work well on a phone.
What is on the page
A photo-led hero with tonight's opening hours and a Book a table button.
A short story section about the (fictional) owners.
The menu as tabs: antipasti, primi, secondi, dolci and wine, with prices.
A photo gallery of dishes and the dining room.
A booking form with a guest counter (up to 8), date, available times and notes. It is a demo, so no table is booked. On a real site it would confirm by email and sync with the restaurant's booking system.
Address, directions, opening hours and contact details.
How it is built
Astro with plain CSS and a little TypeScript for the menu tabs and booking form.
Mobile-first, responsive WebP images, fast to load.
Hosted on Cloudflare Pages.
For a real restaurant
I would use your menu, photos and hours, and connect booking to the system you already use. A one-page version fits my launch page package; the full site fits the business website package.
