Replicate Pricing Page Redesign

Replicate App Redesign

Background A few weeks ago, I came across a job post on Facebook. On a whim, I applied, no expectations, just curiosity. A few days later, I received a follow-up email with a redesign task. At first, I hesitated. I even replied to express my doubts. The team explained that it was part of their vetting process.
I almost passed on it. But the day before the deadline, I thought: Why not treat it as a learning experience? If nothing else, there’s value in the process.

The Challenge

Redesign Replicate, an existing product to demonstrate design thinking and UI/UX skills. Due: 3 days Freedom: Open-ended, I could choose any screen.
I chose the Pricing Page, because pricing is where decisions happen. A thoughtful design here can build trust, reduce confusion, and drive conversions.

My Goals

Improve information hierarchy
Make comparison between plans easy
Simplify content and reduce cognitive load
Fix accessibility issues
Maintain visual clarity and responsiveness (especially on desktop)

Key Decisions & Changes

1. Headline Hierarchy
Moved the headline to the top to immediately communicate value and set the context before users dive into pricing.
2. Full Plan Visibility (Desktop)
All pricing plans are now shown side-by-side to allow seamless comparison. This reduces clicks and supports quicker decision-making.
3. Content Simplification
I removed fluff and irrelevant details. The focus was on clarity: what each plan offers and who it’s for.
4. Plan Consolidation
Two similar plans were merged to avoid analysis paralysis. Fewer choices = faster decisions.
5. Accessibility Improvement
I fixed contrast issues, added clearer focus states for buttons, and improved text size and spacing, small tweaks that make a big difference for usability.

Outcome

I would’ve loved to do more screens if I had time.
Was it worth it? Absolutely.
I sharpened my design judgment, practiced constraint-driven thinking, and reminded myself that even speculative work can offer real growth.

Takeaway

Sometimes the best projects are the ones you almost didn’t do. This wasn’t just a test, it was a design reflection, a growth point, and a reminder that every screen is a chance to advocate for the user.
