Black Lotus Shilajit is an e-commerce brand that sells a niche herbal supplement. A big hurdle for conversion was educating leads on the benefits of Shilajit. I created a custom chatbot trained on their data that builds trust with visitors. This chatbot also pushes for conversion with Add to Cart prompts directly in the chat. This conversion event can be modified depending on the offer (i.e. Book meetings, schedule showings, send email, etc).

Challenge

Black Lotus’s biggest bottleneck was educating leads; all marketing campaigns revolved around education. After a successful marketing campaign, website traffic increased by over 400%, and the small team behind Black Lotus was burdened by customer service inquires and basic questions.

Solution

I built a fully custom AI chatbot that uses Black Lotus’s data to educate leads. This was built using a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) system, which is a lightweight framework that does not require ‘formal training’ of a large language model. Not only does it answer customer questions, but the chatbot pushes users to add items to their cart, boosting conversion.

Results

The owners of Black Lotus were spending over 3 hours a day answering customer service questions. Now, they only deal with the highly sensitive cases and let the chatbot do the rest. This is a clear win for doing more with less.
