Kids School Bus Motion Graphic Animation

This project was designed as a playful and educational motion graphic animation for a children’s learning platform. The goal was to create a lightweight, web-friendly animation that could be integrated seamlessly into a website or mobile app using Lottie (JSON format).

The animation needed to capture a cheerful, child-friendly atmosphere while maintaining smooth motion and compatibility across devices. The key idea was to illustrate a bright yellow school bus driving through a friendly environment — complete with moving clouds, waving trees, and animated text — symbolizing a “fun journey of learning.”

All assets (bus, clouds, trees, and typography) were designed in Adobe Illustrator using vector shapes for clean scalability. Colors were chosen to reflect a warm, positive tone — bright yellows, light blues, and soft greens — to appeal to a young audience and maintain readability.

The animation was built in Adobe After Effects, focusing on smooth motion and loopable sequences. Key techniques included:

Shape layer animation for the bus movement and wheel rotation.

Parallax motion for trees and clouds to add depth and realism.

Ease curves and bounce effects for a lively, childlike rhythm.

Text animation synced with the bus movement (“Let’s Go to School!”).

Once finalized, the project was exported via Bodymovin into Lottie JSON format for web use, ensuring fast load times and full vector rendering.

Reduced asset complexity for smoother playback.

Compressed vector layers and used reusable keyframe animations.

Tested responsiveness in multiple aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1).

The final animation successfully combined fun storytelling with performance efficiency — enhancing the client’s brand identity while keeping kids engaged.
