Editing travel vlogs from Thailand

Client: British expat living in Thailand My Role: Full editing from raw footage, including creative narrative construction

The client, a British expat who married a Thai woman and settled in Thailand, started a YouTube channel to document his new life, travels, and family experiences. His content includes local explorations, family vlogs, and personal reflections filmed in a talking-head format.

I edited several videos for the client, including travel vlogs, family stories, and commentary pieces. Most of the footage came without any structure or detailed guidance. I was responsible not only for the full technical edit, but also for crafting the narrative: selecting the strongest clips, defining the story arc, cutting irrelevant parts, and shaping everything into a coherent, engaging video that reflects the client’s tone and message.

Edited in DaVinci Resolve, using: – Smooth transitions – Zooms and reframing – B-roll selection and integration – Music selection and background audio balancing – Text on screen (titles, emphasis) – Green screen integration with chroma key and templates – Color correction – Camera stabilization – Subscribe buttons and calls to action

The final videos were published on the client’s YouTube channel and served as the foundation for building his online presence. With improved structure, visuals, and pacing, the content helped him increase engagement, grow his viewership, and move toward a more consistent publishing strategy.
