Eco-friendly Walk with One’s Dog

The organizers of the “Follow Your Pet” initiative invites people with some of their best friends — their dogs — for a clean-up event in the gardens of Campo di Marte to help and clean the green space on Sunday, Sept. 15 starting at 10 am. Those interested are invited to meet up in front of the water fountain in the park at 9:45 am.

Walking with your dog is probably one of the best parts of the day, but when you have the opportunity to help the environment by collecting park plastic waste in the company of your dog and have the opportunity to meet other dog lovers it’s even better.

Families with children are also welcome to join in the educational walk and share their appreciation of pets or bring their own.

Participants need to bring gloves and bags to collect the abandoned waste along the paths. At the end of the activity, everyone will receive a small gift in gratitude from the organizers.

It’s a healthy and playful way to spend the weekend, meet new people and give a helping hand to a green area of Florence. (maria filatova)
