FEM & Co is a digital marketing agency founded during the pandemic, specializing in the growth and development of women in business. Some of the services they provide are web design, branding, and content creation.

As a Social Media Intern, I worked remotely and directly with management and my co-interns. I was placed in the research, content creation, and social media management teams while also touching on a bit of SEO.

The main goal: to increase awareness and engagement on Facebook and Instagram as the company is relatively new.

Process 🛣

1. Planning and content creation - brainstormed and created a content library with content pillows of:

Experts in the House - content that shows professional experience (ie. 5 Brands with Influential Branding, Most Common Branding Failures, and Design Principles Every Graphic Designer Should Know).

The Inside Scoop - content that will promote the FEM Group as an employer and agency to work with (ie. What Does the FEM Group Stand For?, Celebrate FEM Milestones, and Q&A with Juliana - the founder).

Success Stories - feedback from our clients about our services (ie. FEM's Success Stories).

Female Empowerment - content that will showcase victories of female entrepreneurs, leaders, and doers (ie. 5 Canadian Female-Owned Businesses We Love, #likeagirl Sharing Female Successes, and Interviews with Female Entrepreneurs).

Educational 'Day of the Week' - business related content from different sources with the objective of informing or educating followers to engage them and increase follower count (ie. Common Struggles of Owning a Small Business and How To Overcome Them, 5 Tips to Avoid Burnout, and 6 High Performance Habits).

Motivate Me - content that will inspire our audience (ie. Motivational Monday Quotes).

Holiday Buzz - content that are on-theme with current events (ie. Marketing Campaigns for Pride Month 2021, and How Brands Celebrate Father's Day Online).

2. Content calendar implementation

Used this content to create a 4-month content calendar for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tiktok, and the FEM & Co blog.

3. Execution

For each topic, I provided rough sub-ideas that we can discuss.

For example, for the topic of "Brands We Follow To Get Inspired":

- Find interesting social media accounts (ideally, related to female empowerment) - it can be any social media platform - Showcase examples of posts on these accounts - Explain what these profiles are about in a nutshell, elaborate on how they help us get inspired (unique design, interesting stories, funny videos, etc.)

I fine-tune these ideas in a Word or Excel document to send to our graphic design interns along with the design direction or feel, content on each slide in an Instagram carousel, captions, and relevant hashtags.

4. Tracking

Scheduled our social posts using PlannThat and tracked the performance of our posts by monitoring its analytics and adjust accordingly.
