Hi, I'm James. Newbie to Contra but not to freelancing!

I am a front-end developer and mobile app developer based in Canada (Eastern Time). I have 6+ years of professional experience and have been a Shopify partner since 2015. I mainly work with JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native and Next.js, but also have experience with Node.js, Python and MongoDB.

I currently have an open-source mobile app on GitHub called Shu Ha Ri Engine. This is a learning tool that embodies the Shu Ha Ri approach to learning (beginner, advanced, mastery). It uses React Native and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. One key feature is that the app is privacy-first — no account required, no personal information collected, no footprint. Just open the app, select your pack and start learning.
