LangChain needed an on-brand logo animation on a compressed production timeline, leaving limited room for the experimentation and iteration typically involved in motion identity work.
I developed a hybrid AI-assisted and traditional motion design workflow. Generative video tools were used selectively during early exploration to prototype motion directions quickly, while the final animation was predominantly rebuilt, refined, and composited manually in Adobe After Effects.
The project demonstrated a practical application of AI within a professional motion workflow: using generation to accelerate ideation without surrendering creative control or production quality.
Challenges
Delivering a polished logo animation within a tight turnaround.
Maintaining LangChain's recognizable brand identity and visual consistency.
Working with unpredictable AI-generated motion while avoiding common generative artifacts.
Transforming experimental AI output into controlled, production-ready motion.
Ensuring speed improvements did not come at the expense of polish.

Tasks
Interpreted the brief and established an animation direction appropriate for LangChain's visual identity.
Tested multiple AI video-generation approaches to rapidly explore potential motion behaviors for the logo mark.
Evaluated and discarded unsuitable generations, isolating the strongest visual idea for further development.
Used the selected AI output as an experimental motion foundation rather than a finished asset.
Brought the material into Adobe After Effects for detailed manual refinement.
Reshaped and reconstructed visual elements to improve consistency and control.
Corrected color, composition, timing, movement, and generative inconsistencies.
Composited AI-assisted material with traditionally animated elements into a unified sequence.
Fine-tuned timing and transitions to give the final animation a deliberate, polished feel.
Performed final quality control to ensure the animation aligned with LangChain's brand and design standards.
Impact
The hybrid workflow significantly shortened the creative exploration phase, helping deliver a polished animation within the required timeframe without relying on AI for the majority of the final execution.
Only around 15% of the finished animation originated from AI-generated material, while approximately 85% resulted from traditional motion design and manual refinement. That selective use of AI provided the speed advantage where it mattered most: early experimentation.
The project demonstrated how AI can function effectively as a creative acceleration tool rather than a replacement for motion design expertise, freeing more production time for refinement, intentionality, and final execution.
Created a polished LangChain logo animation under a tight deadline, using AI-assisted exploration and precision Effects refinement to accelerate production.
