Picture walking into a futuristic store with a space-themed vibe. Stars and galaxies surround you, giving off a cosmic dream vibe.
High-tech gadgets and modern designs fill the store, creating a sensation reminiscent of being in a sci-fi movie.

Applying Norman’s Design Principles to VR

I started to learn more about the VR controller’s design. My professor guided me to discuss its buttons, their locations, and the rationale behind their placement.
Visibility: Clearly labeled buttons for easy identification.
Feedback: Utilize visual, auditory, or haptic cues to inform users of actions and system status.
Affordance: Design for comfortable handling and intuitive button interaction.
Mapping: Align spatially and functionally with user expectations and VR environment.
Functionality: Place buttons logically for their respective actions, considering user comfort and precision.

Phase 1: Learning Unity3D

In my Unity project, I delved into the world of 3D design, exploring key concepts like creating materials, positioning objects using the Transform component, and adding textures like normal and Albedo maps.
I also learned about Skyboxes and Skybox Fog, which create the background environment, and used Particle Systems for cool visual effects.
Phase 2: Interactive Mirrors
The mirrors in this store aren't just for checking yourself out. They're like magic portals to a virtual closet. When you approach one, the clothes start spinning around, showing off all their cool details. And if you want to try something on, just look at it, and bam! You're wearing it.
Phase 3: Dynamic Descriptions
Each piece of clothing comes with a tag that tells you all about it. But here's the fun part – instead of boring text, the details pop up in the air, almost like a tiny fashion show. You'll learn everything about the fabric, the price, and how to style it.
Conclusion
Leaving the store isn't just about buying clothes; it's about taking a journey through a cosmic fashion wonderland. Though I couldn't implement every idea I had due to time constraints, this project has been an incredible learning experience, showing me the possibilities and areas for growth in Unity.
