The former BioPharma business of GE was purchased by Danaher and rebranded as Cytiva. As part of the transition, the business needed to extend it’s nascent brand guidelines and apply them to a massive portfolio of software products. I worked as an embedded resource to shape the future of their interfaces and oversee the international rollout.

Unified and well-documented design guidelines were needed to support development teams in applying the new Cytiva brand to their products. I expanded the existing guidelines and built out a comprehensive resource, gathering and incorporating feedback from distributed development teams throughout the process.

Cytiva’s product suite demanded a flexible design library that accounted for the context of each workspace and the patterns established by hardware and operating systems.

Using findings from interviews and research, I designed a unified set of patterns for use on integrated touch screens, web browsers, native Windows applications, enterprise automation platforms, and more.

I worked closely with Cytiva’s hardware design department to develop a vision for the next generation of biopharmaceutical equipment. I incorporated input and feedback from users and the industrial design team to produce working prototypes of luxurious, seamless products.
