Self-Project Video Creation

Alessia Bernardi

Alessia Bernardi

As professionals, we often fail to view our own assets (like this video) as actionable case studies, instead seeing them as ongoing, imperfect "works in progress." This mental block prevents us from showcasing expertise, so this time, I am my own case study!
The Client's Mandate: Create a short video that captures the essence of my work in the past few years, using existing assets, while navigating the inevitable emotional friction and perfectionism associated with self-promotion.
The Execution: A Demonstration of Seniority
Emotional Branding Management:
Identified and neutralized the internal emotional biases (perfectionism, self-doubt) that hinder project completion.
Proof Point: This video is a success because it bypassed the "finished product" anxiety and focused instead on delivering narrative relevance using existing, strong visuals that feel true to my personal style.
Strategic Discipline & Ethical Scarcity:
Applied the principle of scarcity and selective representation—a luxury tactic essential to my practice. The selection process was complex because a core pillar of my work is confidentiality.
Having learned while working as a ghostwriter that many high-value clients prefer the creator behind their work to remain anonymous, I strictly respected this ethical constraint. I only used the most relevant and disclosable visuals from the shared assets, ensuring the content is powerful without compromising client trust.
The "Beyond the Work" Insight:
Framed the video not as a deliverable, but as a case study in strategic process.
Proof Point: The final product is a transparent look at the discipline, aesthetic acuity, and client management skills required for senior-level strategy—skills often ignored in a standard portfolio, but deeply relevant to me.
We often treat our best work as something 'beyond' a case study. This video proves that applying strategic rigor and emotional intelligence to any project—even a personal one—transforms it into a measurable demonstration of expertise, without compromising identity.
This short showcase is just an introduction. For a deeper understanding of my crative process and the full scope of my work in Brand Strategy, Content Architecture, and Creative Direction, please request to see my complete portfolio, which is currently under construction.
