Sportal

Sportal, a refreshed version of San Jose State University's Sammy app, is a conceptual solution that bridges the gap between Education and Technology for remote students and professors.

During a Summer Externship for SJSU's Management Information Systems Association, my team and I analyzed the university’s technology strategy to develop a concept solution that could help bridge the gap between Education and Technology, caused by the Covid pandemic.

To address the issue, we crafted a product called “Sportal”, a refreshed version of the existing SJSU Sammy app.

As Product Designer, I led the design effort through user research, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and iteration. The feedback we gathered was overwhelmingly positive, with 92% of survey respondents saying that new features we were introducing would improve their overall academic experience. Ultimately we presented our key insights to SJSU Faculty, Staff, and Corporate Executives to earn the 1st place prize.
