Overview
Founded in mid-2017 by Azran, Naluri endeavors to make health accessible to the masses. The app focuses on empowering users in managing both mental and physical well-being, providing support from live coaches. Naluri's coaches suggest new habits for members, monitoring their progress for tangible improvements in daily life.
💫 Problem
Despite initial attempts to cultivate beneficial habits, many individuals tend to abandon them within the first week. Only a few successfully integrate these new habits into their daily routines.
No time
There is not enough self-motivation and self-discipline
The habit development process is too boring

Design Process

Testing would not be included in the design process due to the short amount of time.

Discovery & Research

What makes Naluri different than competitors is its access to live coaches. Other than that, it does help the users monitor & take charge of their diet, habits & health metrics via self-help tools.
How do we make them motivated to do their challenges?
How do we jump-start the users to start their challenges?
How do we encourage them to set their own goals?
It might be a challenge to find users that use Naluri directly. Alternatively, I will be looking for users that use something similar to Naluri. Such as Mental health, Physical health as well as Habit Tracker.
User interviews were conducted with 5 respondents to understand more about their pain points and also experience using similar platforms.
The interview was done remotely to suit the time availability of the respondents.

02 - Customer Journey Map

Based on the interview insights, I have created a customer journey map to help me visualize the experience better. It will only serve as a baseline.
A UX competitive analysis was done to understand the competition, identify opportunities, and find an edge. You can check a more detailed analysis through this link.

03 - Competitor Analysis

Homepage Redesign

Showing important information
Instead of challenges, I propose to rename it to Goals. During the user interviews, it was clear some of the users felt that the challenge felt a bit overwhelming whereas the label goal felt more at ease for them.
Star Features to start with: Showing the users which feature is good for them to start would great and separate the assessment part.
Routines to-do list: Once the member has started their goals, their goals will be listed here. It will change according to the time of the day.
Measurement of success:
Increase user engagement
Increase the likelihood of achieving targets

Onboarding Setting Goals

Personalized goals and suggestions
For first-time users, it can be daunting to think of the most suitable goals for them and tend to give up on trying.
Different levels of difficulty: Making different difficulties for certain goals and challenges would be suitable for different personas. We can’t know for certain that a certain persona (active, casual, and inactive) will consider
Recommended by coach: What makes Naluri special is their coaches. Members are most likely to trust their coaches’ suggestions.
Measurement of success:
Increase user engagement
Increase the likelihood of achieving targets

Gamification Goals + Coaches Challenge

Grow as you complete your goals/habits
Most of the time, members quickly get bored after a while by doing it repetitively. Making it a gamification process as they do their goals would bring entertainment in their quest.
Coach Challenges: Helps to motivate members to try them out as it is recommended by their coaches
Seedling growth: By visualizing the amount of effort, the seedling will grow in phases
Separate routines: Separating routines makes it easier for members to see the timeline of their habits needed to be completed
Measurement of success:
Increase user engagement
Increase the likelihood of achieving targets

Achievements

Each day completed earns a streak
Previously, Naluri uses a calendar so that users are able to see their streaks. But it was hard to understand at one glance.
Streak day: it doesn’t matter if the member doesn’t complete all of their lists. Even one completed goal is enough.
Streak by week: Each new week, members are able to see each day whether they completed their goals for each day.
Achievement awards: Special awards given to members who achieved consistency.
Measurement of success:
Increase user engagement
Increase the likelihood of achieving targets

Community

Challenges that require a friend to help.
A leaderboard is for each person is great but I always think having more support in working towards something together is even greater.
The difficulty for goals: The more difficult the goal is, the better the reward is.
Measurement of success:
Increase user engagement
Increase the success rate of health

Key Takeaways

More I wanted to do but I didn't have time
I had so many ideas such as having the Apple watch connected to the app. But with work and all, I wasn’t able to explore it. I also wanted to consult with the coordinator, to at least get some feedback.
Finding users that used Naluri was difficult
Naluri primarily serves corporate clients whose employees subscribe to its services. While attempting to identify users, I explored various channels, including inquiries within my professional network and seeking users from similar platforms as an alternative approach
Tidy up more of the work
I must admit, it's a bit messy at the moment. However, I plan to revisit this and address any missing elements in the near future.
All illustrations don't belong to me
In order to speed up the process, I took free illustrations from Figma, all of the illustrations are credited to its creator Asfar.
