Overview

I designed, built, and now operate a company-wide internal platform for GIC. It brings sales, procurement, laboratory work, concrete production, and internal administration into shared digital workflows.
The platform grew from an initial build into 20+ operational modules supporting 100+ concurrent users. My role spans the full lifecycle: discovery with the teams using it, data and system design, implementation, deployment, infrastructure, and production support.

The problem

Many workflows were spread across manual processes, separate data sources, and inconsistent procedures. The goal was not to reproduce existing spreadsheets in a browser. It was to identify where work was duplicated or error-prone, standardise the workflow, and build a system that different departments could actually rely on.

What I built

A PHP backend with relational data models and APIs
A Vue and TypeScript frontend for day-to-day operational work
Near-real-time sales and management reporting across multiple locations and sales points
A multi-country public-procurement ingestion system for construction tenders, including normalised data, external-ID mapping, deduplication, revision handling, history tracking, and automated processing
An authentication and identity layer with WebAuthn/passkeys, Microsoft account integration, secure session handling, and fine-grained permissions
Integrations with internal systems, laboratory measurements, production workflows, physical equipment, and external services
A meal-ticketing and point-of-sale system, first built as a Windows C application with RFID company cards, then rebuilt as a native Android tablet app
Firmware and software integration for in-house construction-site cameras that capture timelapses and connect through VPN infrastructure

Architecture and operations

I own the platform beyond the application layer. That includes Linux servers, Nginx, Docker, GitLab, CI/CD, networking, firewalls, VPNs, backups, monitoring, deployments, database operations, and incident troubleshooting.
Performance work is driven by the real workload. For larger aggregated reporting views, I used complex SQL, server-side processing, caching, PHP OPCache, and later frontend and Service Worker caching to keep load times under approximately 2 seconds.

My role

Software Engineer and Platform Engineer. I worked directly with teams across the business to understand their constraints, turn fragmented processes into a common operating model, and keep the system reliable as its scope expanded.
