Overview

At Iskraemeco, I developed software for smart-metering products and the infrastructure that supports them.

Focus areas

My work included implementing a European smart-meter communication protocol used to communicate with meters over the wire, alongside backend work for validating meter communication and handling cryptographic key exchange and distribution.

What I contributed

Implemented communication-protocol functionality for smart meters
Improved backend performance for meter-communication validation and cryptographic key workflows
Built product features and functional prototypes
Participated in architecture, verification, testing, and investigation of product deficiencies
Diagnosed product behaviour across software and hardware boundaries

Approach

Smart-metering work sits at the point where protocol implementation, backend systems, device behaviour, and verification meet. I worked through those boundaries to investigate faults, evaluate technical changes, and help keep the product and its supporting systems reliable.
