Eco-Stylist is a guide to ethical fashion. They host a Sustainable Brands Directory for sustainable clothing in an easy-to-use marketplace.
Their philosophy? Dress like you give a damn: the act of looking sharp and living your values. Eco-Stylist makes it easy to do both.
Challenge
Eco-Stylist's goal was to increase organic growth on Instagram to reach a wider audience.
Solution
I developed a social media strategy where I tested different designs, trending topics in posts and combined humour in reel videos.
The strategy implemented consisted of the following tasks:
Conduct a brand refresh - design Instagram highlight covers and re-write content in each highlight + adjust colour of logo to match. I chose a green colour (previously black) since Eco-Stylist is a sustainable community advocate
Repurpose blog posts into social media posts based on new and trending topics
Create reel videos utilizing funny tone
Conduct hashtag research
Perform SEO optimization on YouTube videos
Success
Exceeded Instagram reel view by 100%, over a 14 day period by focusing on using trending audio/topics in the sustainable fashion industry and time of day posting.
Increased follower count by 22.5%, over a 90-day period by testing relevant hashtags and trending topics in sustainable fashion industry.
Leveraged data and as a result improved engagement rate by 3x over a 90 day period.
Increased Instagram reach by 2x, through testing funny reel videos and improving Instagram post designs and layout over a 3 month period.
