Digital Visiting Card - App design.

As a designer I had the chance to work on the complete visual overhaul of the app and also the cleaning up some of the UX challenges.

The Process

We started out with sharing the old beta app with our co-workers and other close associates. After a week of user testing we interviewed the users in person and through video calls.

We identified the following pain points:

User registration had too many steps,

Initial setup tour was missing.

Less tech savvy users didn’t know how to use core functionalities like editing/updating contact information.

Visual design was looking serious and less inviting.

User Persona

The target users and demographic consists of entrepreneurs, working professionals and freelancers for whom networking is vital to their roles. This group of individuals would want to update their professional contacts about their details with a click of a button (metaphorically speaking).

Solution

Reconstructed the app architecture to streamline the user journey and the point of gratification (relevant information).

Simpler registration process with informed and fewer steps.

Fun colorful illustrations to keep the process light and enjoyable whilst also giving important information.

Setup tour/guide to educate the users the ideal flow and functionalities.

Visual overhaul with bright blue colors, gradients, clean san-serif typeface and also round edges with icons etc. to make the visual feel professional and welcoming at the same time.
