The idea sparked during a brainstorming session with one of the business owners, Braeden, who showed a promo art featuring four cozy sweaters.
This led us to envision cups wearing sweaters, with autumnal ingredients swirling around them.
After exploring various references — from the playful to the cozy—we settled on a simple sweater wrap design, focusing on texture and color to evoke a warm, inviting feel.
Step 2. Video Capture
To bring our concept to life, we needed to capture stable footage. However, we quickly learned that the built-in stabilization in smartphones can interfere with motion tracking software.
To counter this, we used the Kino app to record footage without stabilization and relied on the DJI Osmo Gimbal to minimize camera shake.
After some trial and error, we finally captured the perfect shot.
Step 3. Motion Tracking
Next came the technical challenge of motion tracking. We used Adobe After Effects to track the camera movements, achieving a seamless result on the first try.
We then imported our footage into Blender using the AE2Blend addon.
Step 4. Motion Tracking
In Blender, we constructed the scene and meticulously followed a checklist to ensure every detail was accounted for. We created realistic autumn leaves using images we found online, added wind physics, and arranged the cups and ingredients around them. After perfecting the lighting, we were almost there.
But, in a last-minute twist, we decided to ride the wave of the "Twilight" trend. We added a dramatic filter using the iPhone's library and paired it with a moody soundtrack to create the final, atmospheric touch.
Final Result: Sweater Weather
