Short documentary edit on the August 2026 flash flood in Astak Nullah, which badly damaged Astak Bridge at km 72 and cut the Jaglot-Skardu Road, the main ground route into Baltistan.
The challenge
The story had to move from context to impact quickly: why this road matters, where the bridge is, and what the flood did to it, in about 20 seconds.
What I did
Built an animated map intro showing the road from Jaglot to Skardu, the four districts it feeds and its daily traffic of 1,200 to 1,500 vehicles.
Added a satellite fly-in that lands the viewer on the bridge site before the real footage starts.
Cut drone footage of the flood damage to the narration, with clean lower-third captions throughout.
Kept the pace tight so the piece works as a standalone clip for social media as well as part of a longer film.
Tools
DaVinci Resolve for the edit, captions and motion graphics.
