Opening edit for a short documentary on the New Baghicha Bridge works at km 107 of the Jaglot-Skardu Road in Gilgit-Baltistan, covering the FWO and NHA effort to restore the crossing.
The challenge
Most viewers have never heard of Baghicha. Before showing any site footage, the video had to explain where the bridge is, how long the road is and why this one crossing matters, all in a few seconds.
What I did
Designed an animated route map from Zero Point to Skardu with Shengus, Astak, Dambudas and Baghicha Bridge marked.
Animated a truck moving along the road with a live "Now at / Distance" counter so viewers always know where they are.
Cut the map into the drone and site footage, added synced captions and matched the pacing to the voice-over.
Designed the YouTube thumbnail, combining day and night work shots with the FWO and NHA branding.
Tools
DaVinci Resolve for editing, colour and motion graphics.
