Fogo Cruzado — Estado Letal

Illustrations for a special project by the Fogo Cruzado Institute with data and reports on 283 police massacres mapped in Greater Rio (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) over 7 years. The illustrations are based on victims' stories and newspaper articles.

At chacinaspoliciais.com.br, you can consult data on each massacre, filtering by location, neighborhood, city, region, number of deaths, police units involved, among other data. There is also a section with reports on the 18 registered Revenge Operations. The illustrations were used to compose the online platform and other developments such as urban interventions that brought the data to the physical world. 🏆​​​​​​​ This project has already received recognition in the following awards:
