Twenty-year-old actress Jenna Ortega became a true breakthrough in the film industry of 2022 after her role as Wednesday Addams in the series "Wednesday". Millions of fans around the world consider her the ideal of beauty.
In addition to grueling training in fencing, archery, and cello playing, Ortega had to make sacrifices in her diet and give up veganism, which she previously adhered to.
“I was vegan for a really long time,” the actress told Wired. “But I stopped being vegan when I went to Romania to shoot Wednesday.”
“The food is very different there and I don’t think that I was meeting my nutrition requirements, so I started eating fish again. So, I’m currently pescatarian,” she revealed.
Let's remind that pescetarianism (from Italian "pesce" - fish) is a type of diet where a person abstains from eating meat and poultry but is allowed to consume fish, crabs, and mollusks. Most pescetarians also eat eggs and dairy products, although some may abstain from them.
It was challenging to adhere to a vegan diet during filming, given that the everyday Romanian diet typically consists of meat-based dishes such as tripe soup, meat rolls, and Radauti (sour chicken) soup, among others.
Also Jenna let the The New York Times in on her love of avocado rolls. "I went vegetarian, and any time people asked me what my favorite food was, I’m so indecisive I couldn’t give them an answer. So, I would say, 'Oh, I love avocados.' And people would say, 'But that’s not a meal.' Well, I love sushi and I love avocados, and now it’s my go-to. You know how kids always go with chicken tenders and French fries? Those are my chicken tenders and French fries," she shared.

Jenna considers herself a gourmet, she likes to watch cooking shows and often experiments herself. She prefers vegan chocolate cake and tries to get rid of sugar cravings. Although Ortega mostly doesn't follow a very strict diet.
In fact, she balances her food choices and health by exercising more than cutting back on her eating habits. Ortega prefers organic and nutritious foods. In addition, she cuts down on carbs, unless they come from fruits or vegetables. And of course she tries to drink plenty of water to stay energetic and hydrated.
Some other favorites include broccoli, falafel, vegetable soups, and beignets. But she doesn't really like chicken and mushrooms.
