Interactive Gamified Experience for Bigbasket’s Rakhi Campaign

Overview

To celebrate the sibling bond during the Rakhi festival, I designed and developed an interactive, Rive-powered "Tug of War" game for the Bigbasket app. The goal was to move beyond passive video content and create a high-engagement touchpoint that allowed users to play as either a brother or sister in a real-time digital battle.

The Challenge 

The objective was to create a responsive animation where the outcome wasn't predetermined. The animation needed to react instantly to user input (tapping speed) while maintaining smooth transitions and a lightweight file size for seamless app performance.

Technical Execution

State Machine Logic: Built complex conditional logic in Rive to track "tap frequency" and translate it into character movement.
Real-time Interaction: Tying motion triggers directly to user interaction, ensuring the "tug" felt weighty and responsive.
End-to-End Design: Managed the entire pipeline from initial character illustration and storyboarding to the final animation and sound mixing.

Results & Recognition

Industry Spotlight: Featured in the official Rive Newsletter as a standout example of interactive UI animation.
Engagement: Successfully boosted user session time within the Bigbasket app during the festive period.
