Project Context:
Grant Thornton identified the need to improve and automate the manual processes associated with international independence consultations. These processes were crucial for regulatory compliance but involved fragmented workflows and repetitive tasks.
The primary goal was to design a digital solution that centralized and simplified these operations, enabling data management, automated workflows, and streamlined decision-making in a highly regulated environment.
My Role:As a Senior UX/UI Designer, I led key design phases, including interpreting initial requirements, conceptualizing, visual design, and prototype validation:
Analyzed documentation: Interpreted the client's detailed requirements, identifying critical process points.
Designed User Flows: Mapped functional flows for current (AS-IS) and future (TO-BE) processes.
Wireframes and prototypes: Developed low-fidelity wireframes for structure and high-fidelity prototypes to simulate final functionality.
Usability testing: Conducted testing with stakeholders and key users to validate clarity and efficiency of the design.
Design Process:
Initial Analysis and Problem Understanding:
Reviewed documentation detailing current (AS-IS) and desired (TO-BE) processes.
Conducted stakeholder meetings to understand business priorities and the complexity of international workflows.
Identified pain points such as duplicate data entry, manual tasks prone to errors, and fragmented processes.
Conceptualization and Functional Design:
Mapped detailed user flows, including:
Consultation initiation: National or international templates with specific fields.
Linked entities management: Querying external databases like Axesor and Amadeus.
Conflict resolution: Logging decisions and generating ready-to-send reports.
Validated these flows with stakeholders through collaborative workshops.
Visual Design and Wireframes:
Created low-fidelity wireframes in Figma, prioritizing clarity and basic functionality.
Designed features such as dynamic forms, progress indicators, and interactive tables for managing large data volumes.
Incorporated early feedback to refine critical elements.
High-Fidelity Prototype and Functional Simulation:
Applied Grant Thornton’s existing style guide while adding necessary elements for this project.
Designed a clean, professional interface integrating forms, graphs, and tables.
Developed an interactive prototype in Figma simulating complete workflows, including:
National and international request submissions.
Automated data queries and exports.
Conflict resolution using visual tools like relationship graphs and editable comments.
Design System Integration:
Enhanced Grant Thornton’s Design System with:
Progress bars for real-time request status updates.
Custom alerts for overdue requests or pending actions.
Interactive tables with filtering and export options.
Relationship graphs for visualizing client and linked entity hierarchies.
Documented all new components with clear implementation specifications.
Validation and Testing:
Conducted user testing sessions with the independence department to evaluate usability and workflow clarity.
Iterated designs based on feedback, improving visual elements, text sizes, and button layouts.
Refined graphs and tables for better intuitiveness, even with large data sets.
